Book vs. Film xRay ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that compares scenes from streaming video content to their source books using AI. This privacy policy explains what data is collected and how it is used.

What data we collect

When you pause a video and click "Compare to book?", the Extension collects:

How we use this data

This data is sent to our backend server solely to generate a comparison between the film/show scene and its source book using the Claude AI API (Anthropic). It is not stored, sold, or shared with any third party beyond what is necessary to produce the analysis.

Data storage

We do not store any personal data, viewing history, or analysis results on our servers. Each request is processed in real time and discarded immediately after the response is returned to your browser.

The Extension only activates on Netflix (netflix.com) and HBO Max (max.com). It does not run on any other websites.

Children's privacy

The Extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.
